Time keeps on slippin'
So much has happened since my last entry, and days kindofblendintoeachother-somewhere between my daily routines and the weight of my eye lids by 8:00 each evening, I just haven't found the urge to write...However too many things are happening that if I don't just sit myself down and put the time in I will procrastinate indefinitely as my list of "happenings" and "going ons" gets longer and longer. A bulleted list seems like the laziest way to catch up...
1. Baby Lua finally came and all was well. Really well. She is simply incredible. But my sister Charity is even moreso. Once things got rolling, she gave birth at home all within a few hours. I was so fortunate to be a quiet witness and Lua's birth, next to my own baby's, was the most miraculous event in my life thus far.
2. We're moving. After 2 1/2 years of patiently waiting for our home to be renovated, we have chosen to no longer put life on hold because of the lack of space in our current digs. We are moving to a wonderful neighborhood in West Nashville, a 3, maybe 4, bedroom house where i will have a studio, Ru will have some space to play where i won't have to follow behind her and pick up her trails in order to maintain my sanity, and my husband gets to live in his favorite neighborhood in Nashville. And we'll be closer to Ru's part-time school program come August. Oh yeah, and now we can think about more babies.
3. Actually, this seems like THE year for weddings and babies. Out of my dearest friends and family, there have already been 3 births and something like 5 more on the way, within months. And weddings- WHEW! we counted 6 invitations so far and it's only March. What a HAPPY year this is turning out to be!!
4. My girl is 2 1/2, which is unfathomable in itself to begin with, but it's the fact that she's going on 18 that has me constantly staring at her in awe. i wish i had a videographer to just follow her little self around 24/7. She blows me away every day. She counts clearly to 10 in both english and spanish and can creatively make her way to about 30 with few prompts. My favorite section of this process is "see. sore. size." That's 3, 4, 5 without the ability to make the "th" and "f" sounds. She has a better memory than i do (not that lint doesn't have a better memory than me), but you can't pull much over her eyes. Her favorite current phrase, in the LOUDEST voice I've ever heard is "WHAT?!?!? WHAT YOU SAY??!?!" And as much as i DO NOT initiate her watching tv, Cinderella is her current obsession. She is simply fascinated at every part: how mean the stepsisters are, how nice "Cindyrelli" still remains, how high the mice sing, the ENTIRE Bibbity-bobbity-boo sequence, and the fact that Cinderella and the Prince get married at the end. She talks about weddings, dresses or marriage daily. The fact that she knows so many people who are getting married only confirms for her that she needs to be on that band wagon. She has determined that she needs a purple wedding dress "wis pahklees on it" ("sparklees on it", diamonds i'm guessing), some glass slippers (which she did receive as an Ayyam-i-Ha present) and her papa, her prince. She has it all mapped out and there aren't many things cuter than Ru making plans, ESPECIALLY to marry her papa...
5. Her papa is on a serious winning streak when it come to work. It's proved to be more difficult than it's ever been but he's learning such vast amounts of information and skills that constant growth is the result. He' s in the process of opening his new office, so that brings with it an air of excitement all it's own, hinting to the possibilities down the road. He is so good at what he does, i'm continuously in awe of him too.
6. i'm slowly starting up belly Casting Company again. i cast a mama about 3 weeks ago, the first since Ru was born. It was so great, i forgot how much i love everything about casting, particularly a woman housing another soul within her. The energy, the joy, the anticipation, the beauty...i am inspired by it all.

Which is a very nice way to end this entry- finding myself inspired... by my daughter, by my husband, by the promise of couples uniting before God, by the anticipation of new life, by all of my loved ones reading this.
